Terms of Service
These terms are written to be readable. By creating an account or using pressplayd, you're agreeing to them. If anything is unclear, email hello@pressplayd.com.
Who can use pressplayd
You must be at least 16 years old to use pressplayd. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
If you're signing up on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to agree to these terms on its behalf.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Don't share your password with anyone.
You're also responsible for everything that happens under your account. If you think your account has been compromised, contact us at hello@pressplayd.com immediately.
One person, one account. You may not create multiple accounts to abuse the service or circumvent a suspension.
Your content
Anything you post in pressplayd — logs, reviews, list titles, comments, your bio — belongs to you. We don't claim ownership of your content.
By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it within the app to other users, consistent with your privacy settings. For example, if your profile is public, your logs may appear in the social feed of people who follow you.
You're responsible for what you post. By posting content you confirm that:
- You have the right to post it
- It doesn't infringe anyone else's intellectual property
- It doesn't violate anyone's privacy or these terms
What you may not do
The following are not permitted on pressplayd:
- Posting content that is hateful, abusive, threatening, or harasses other users
- Impersonating another person or organisation
- Spamming other users or posting misleading content
- Attempting to access, scrape or reverse-engineer the app or its infrastructure
- Using the service in any way that violates applicable Irish or EU law
- Creating an account if you are under 16
Violating these rules may result in your account being suspended or permanently removed.
Suspension and termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion. We'll aim to notify you when this happens unless doing so would be harmful (e.g. in cases of serious abuse).
You can delete your account at any time from within the app. On deletion, your content and personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Third-party content and services
pressplayd displays metadata — titles, cover art, descriptions — sourced from third-party databases including TMDB, iTunes, OpenLibrary and RAWG. This content belongs to its respective owners and is used in accordance with each provider's terms.
We are not responsible for the accuracy of third-party metadata, though we do our best to display it correctly.
Availability
We aim to keep pressplayd running reliably, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted availability. The service may be unavailable from time to time due to maintenance, bugs, or factors outside our control.
We're a small operation, and we appreciate your patience when things go wrong.
Limitation of liability
pressplayd is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by Irish and EU law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish or EU law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts, except where mandatory EU consumer protection law provides otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use pressplayd after that point means you accept the updated terms.
The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
